Biography

In the late '80s The Blue Cadillacs were one of the most popular and hard-working Rock n' Roll bands on the circuit, sometimes playing over three hundred shows a year. They have been featured live on Radio 2 and have performed at many conventions and venues up and down the country. Original members Bob Mace & Carl Chamberlain have reformed the band together with new singer Malcolm Smith and slap-bassist Rob Brewer. Now they are bringing their brand of energetic Rockabilly and Rock n' Roll to an enthusiastic reception from both old fans and new audiences alike.

BAND MEMBERS

Malcolm Smith

Malcolm’s career in Rock n’ Roll started as the drummer with midlands band Melvyn’s Marauders who had a (now collectable) single with Freddy Cannon’s  “Buzz Buzz A Diddle It” featuring a young Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) on vocals. Throughout the ‘80s Malcolm drummed and sang his way around the world with Rock n’ Roll legends ‘The Slobs’

Carl Chamberlain

Carl has been a professional musician since the  ’80’s when he played on Rock n’ Roll releases on both the  Decca and MCA record labels. He has also played sessions for BBC Radios 1 and 2. Apart from the Cadillacs he still does a lot of studio recording for other artists.

Bob Mace

Bob is highly regarded professional musician who has performed at thousands of gigs since the late 70’s and also appeared on records, radio and television. Lately his work with young people is inspiring many of the next generation of musicians.

Al Palmer

Al is the newest member. He has joined us and will be playing both slap and electric bass. A seasoned musician and an old friend we look forward to working with him in the future.
